Audits in Austria
EVALAG carries out quality management audits at universities in Austria in accordance with the requirements of the Federal Act on the External Quality Assurance in Higher Education and the Agency for Quality Assurance and Accreditation Austria. EVALAG was officially authorised by the Austrian Federal Ministry of Science, Research and Economy in 2014.
The audit is organised as a certifying procedure in the form of a peer review. As a rule, the quality management system is assessed by a group of five international experts, always including a student member and a person responsible for QM at another university.
In addition to a documented self-evaluation of the university, the audit includes an on-site visit by the group of experts. The final decision on the audit and any necessary conditions is made by the Accreditation Commission of EVALAG.
The handbook for Austrian audits, in which the entire process and its requirements are described once again, is available here (only in German):

Accreditation Commission
The Accreditation Commission is the responsible body and the decision-making authority for accreditation procedures abroad (International accreditation procedures, audits in Austria, accreditation procedures in Switzerland).
The Accreditation Commission is composed of permanent and associate members. The associate members are involved in the procedures on an ad hoc basis.
