Following the successful conference in Heidelberg in December 2024, we are now pleased to present the associated conference proceedings "Qualität in der wissenschaftlichen und künstlerischen Weiterbildung" ("Quality in scientific and artistic continuing education - actors, organisations, society"). It is the tenth volume in the wbv series Hochschulweiterbildung in Theorie und Praxis (Higher education in theory and practice) series.
This volume documents key contributions and findings from the conference. It presents theoretical approaches on the one hand and practical examples of continuing education in higher education on the other. The diversity of the field of academic and artistic continuing education can also be deduced from the different questions and intended insights of the contributions. The structure of the anthology follows the structure of the different approaches and divides the contributions into the following four parts:
- Dimensions of quality and professionalisation
- Quality in academic continuing education: strategies, structures, processes
- Quality assurance and development through academic and artistic continuing education in theory and practice
- Programmes in academic and artistic continuing education
The anthology thus provides different perspectives on current discourses on the various dimensions of quality in academic and artistic continuing education. The topics covered range from questions of educational governance, university didactics and programme planning to strategies for quality assurance and microcredentials.
The conference proceedings make a contribution to quality development in academic and artistic continuing education and are aimed at all those who want to play an active role in shaping it.
