To the current issue of the Zeitschrift Hochschule und Weiterbildung (ZHWB)on the topic of structures of academic continuing education, EVALAG was able to contribute two articles - we are very pleased to be able to contribute to the discussion on academic continuing education in this way. We would also like to take this opportunity to thank the editorial team of the ZHWB for the opportunity to publish selected findings from the project Hochschulweiterbildung@BW project.
The article Professionalisation of teaching in academic continuing education. Impulses from a survey of lecturers in Baden-Württemberg by Ana-Maria Bodo-Hartmann and Galina Novikova focuses on the professionalisation needs of teachers in continuing academic education. The starting point for this is an online survey conducted in Baden-Württemberg in spring 2023 as well as findings from the experiences of the project Hochschulweiterbildung@BW. It identifies opportunities to establish professionalisation structures for lecturers in continuing academic education and analyses previous experiences with the planned university didactics programme for lecturers in continuing academic education.
The article deals with the social need for continuing academic education and the demand from politics and companies, which goes hand in hand with the question of the quality of the offers and the professionalisation of the actors. Certification procedures & professionalisation revisited. Needs in quality development and professionalisation in continuing academic education in Baden-Württembergin Baden-Württemberg. Miriam Chebbah, Aletta Hinsken and Stefanie Kröner shed light on certification procedures and professionalisation offers that were developed and implemented as part of the Hochschulweiterbildung@BW project in Baden-Württemberg. They also examine the questions of what needs the institutions have, what understanding of quality is central to successful academic continuing education and, ultimately, what can contribute to quality development and professionalisation.
