The joint project "SEG - Successfully Designing Study Programmes" between Furtwangen University and Ulm University, funded by the Ministry of Science, was successfully completed in September 2024. The online self-study course developed as part of the project is now available nationwide free of charge on the EVALAG website and offers comprehensive knowledge on all aspects of designing study programmes.
In this online self-study course, deans of studies, university lecturers and programme managers acquire the necessary knowledge about the design, implementation and supervision of high-quality study programmes. The course comprises a total of approx. 90 hours. This corresponds to 3 ECTS.
The self-study course looks at the topic of study programme development from different perspectives and provides participants with many suggestions for their area of activity.
The basic content is combined with attractively designed explanatory videos. Specific self-learning tests can be used, such as reflection and application tasks. Short video interviews with interesting people give participants new insights into different types of higher education institutions. Scripts, checklists and references to further materials and information round off the online self-study course.
The course covers the following topics:
- Competence-oriented teaching: Competence orientation in degree programmes, teaching & examinations
- Attractive degree programmes: needs assessment & university funding, study & examination regulations, QM & accreditation procedures, degree programme marketing
- Supporting students and lecturers: Counselling students, supporting learning processes & diversity in universities
