The conference, organised by the Baden-Württemberg Ministry of Science, Research and Arts, took place on 9 July 2026 at the Hospitalhof in Stuttgart.
More than 130 participants from the worlds of science, politics and civil society took the opportunity to learn about and discuss this transdisciplinary, transformative and experimental funding format through an exhibition showcasing more than 15 real-world laboratory projects, various round-table discussions and a plenary panel discussion.
The diversity of the real-world laboratories presented ranged from the integration of asylum seekers, through climate protection in the city context and neighbourhood mobility, to the use of humanoid robots and self-driving vehicles in local supply chains.
EVALAG was responsible for organising and running the event in close consultation with the Ministry and the programme committee responsible for its conceptual design.
