EVALAG hosts ECA Members’ Seminar and European Approach Training

From 24–26 February 2026, EVALAG welcomed members of the European Consortium for Accreditation in higher education (ECA) to its Heidelberg headquarters. Representatives of quality assurance agencies, higher education institutions, university alliances as well as student bodies from Austria, Croatia, France, Germany, Malta, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovenia, Spain and Sweden came together for three days dedicated to professional exchange, learning and collaboration.
The event opened on 24 February with the ECA Members’ Seminar, bringing together experts from across Europe to discuss current developments in quality assurance and to reflect on shared challenges and priorities on the topic of Diversity in Higher Education.
On 25–26 February, EVALAG hosted the training “European Approach for Quality Assurance of Joint Programmes.” The training introduced the principles, standards, and procedural steps of the European Approach and highlighted how national contexts influence the quality assurance of joint programmes. Small‑group work enabled participants to explore practical key aspects of applying the framework in real world settings.
With participants contributing insights from diverse national settings, the three-day event once again underscored the added value of cross border dialogue when addressing common challenges in higher education.
