On 25 September 2025, we celebrated the 25th anniversary of EVALAG in the time-honoured Frauenbad Heidelberg - a festive event that was a complete success thanks to the great efforts of our EVALAG team. Among the numerous guests were representatives from politics, higher education, business partners and companions who shared this special day with us. Thank you all very much for celebrating with us!
In his welcoming speech, Ministerial Director Dr Hans J. Reiter, Head of Office at the Baden-Württemberg Ministry of Science, Research and Arts, praised EVALAG's work as a quarter-century success story and emphasised EVALAG's excellent reputation both nationally and internationally.
Prof Dr Ute von Lojewski, Chairwoman of the EVALAG Foundation Council, emphasised that EVALAG stands for an open culture, genuine further development and goal-oriented, strategic cooperation with the universities.
In their presentations, Dr Aletta Hinsken and Dr Sibylle Jakubowicz looked back at the beginnings of EVALAG, traced its development to the present day and also gave an outlook for the future. They also highlighted the changes EVALAG has undergone at an organisational level - from the change to the corporate design to the new mission statement developed in a participatory process.
Dr Felix Streiter, Managing Director of the Foundation, and EVALAG scientific advisor Petra Gerlach highlighted how successful the collaboration between the Carl Zeiss Foundation and EVALAG has been for 19 years now. Their joint presentation illustrated the partnership impressively - symbolised by the image of a tandem.
Dr Olaf Bartz, Managing Director of the Accreditation Council Foundation, recalled the beginnings of EVALAG as an accreditation agency and emphasised the successful establishment of EVALAG in a competitive market. He also spoke in favour of even closer cooperation in the future - a sign of appreciation that we are very pleased about.
We look back on the past 25 years with gratitude - and look forward to the future with vigour. As a partner for universities and science, our focus remains on the highest quality and genuine further development.
